Wi-Spot Services
These Terms and Conditions govern the rental of Starlink equipment and related networking equipment from Wi-Spot Services (“Wi-Spot”) to the customer (“Renter”).
By making a reservation, paying the rental fee or deposit, or accepting the equipment, the Renter agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
1. Rental Equipment
The rental package may include, depending on the selected package:
- Starlink dish
- Starlink router
- Starlink cable
- Ethernet adapter
- MikroTik or other network equipment
- WiFi access points
- Power accessories
- Mounting equipment
- Other accessories specified in the rental quotation
The exact equipment included will be stated in the applicable rental quotation, booking confirmation, or invoice.
All equipment remains the property of Wi-Spot Services unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2. Rental Period
The rental period begins at the agreed pickup or delivery time and ends when the equipment is returned to Wi-Spot Services.
Unless otherwise agreed:
- Pickup: 6:00 PM on the day before the rental date
- Return: 12:00 noon on the day after the rental period
The applicable rental period and return schedule will be stated in the booking confirmation.
The Renter is responsible for returning all equipment and accessories within the agreed return period.
3. Rental Fee and Security Deposit
The Renter must pay the required rental fee and refundable security deposit before or upon release of the equipment, as specified in the booking confirmation.
The security deposit is separate from the rental fee and may be used to cover:
- Lost equipment
- Missing accessories
- Damage caused during the rental period
- Excessive cleaning or repair
- Late-return charges
- Other unpaid charges related to the rental
The remaining balance of the security deposit will be returned after the equipment has been inspected and all applicable charges have been settled.
4. Reservation
A reservation is confirmed only after Wi-Spot Services has received the required reservation payment or deposit.
A reservation payment may be non-refundable if the booking is cancelled within the applicable cancellation period.
Equipment availability is not guaranteed until the reservation has been confirmed.
5. Pickup and Delivery
The Renter may pick up the equipment from the agreed location or request delivery, subject to availability and applicable delivery charges.
The Renter must present valid identification and any other documents reasonably requested by Wi-Spot Services before equipment is released.
For certain rentals, Wi-Spot Services may require proof of address or a recent billing statement as part of the rental verification process.
6. Inspection Before Release
The equipment may be inspected and documented before release.
The Renter is encouraged to check the equipment and accessories upon pickup or delivery and immediately report any existing damage or missing items.
By accepting the equipment without reporting an issue, the Renter acknowledges receipt of the listed equipment in generally acceptable condition.
7. Care and Handling of Equipment
The Renter must exercise reasonable care while the equipment is in their possession.
The Renter must not:
- Open or disassemble the Starlink equipment
- Modify the equipment
- Remove or alter serial numbers or identifying labels
- Attempt unauthorized repairs
- Cut, modify, or splice cables
- Expose equipment to conditions for which it is not designed
- Intentionally damage or misuse the equipment
- Allow unauthorized persons to tamper with the equipment
Any modification or repair must be approved by Wi-Spot Services beforehand.
8. Loss, Theft, and Damage
The Renter is responsible for the equipment while it is in their possession.
If equipment is lost, stolen, destroyed, or damaged beyond normal wear and tear, the Renter may be charged for the applicable repair or replacement cost.
The cost may be deducted from the security deposit. If the cost exceeds the security deposit, the Renter remains responsible for the outstanding balance.
Examples of potentially chargeable damage include:
- Broken Starlink dish
- Damaged router
- Damaged or cut cables
- Water or liquid damage
- Broken connectors
- Missing power supplies
- Missing Ethernet adapters
- Missing mounting equipment
- Physical damage caused by improper installation or handling
9. Outdoor Deployment
Starlink equipment is normally intended to be deployed outdoors with a clear view of the sky.
The Renter is responsible for selecting a safe deployment location and protecting the equipment from avoidable hazards.
The equipment must not be placed where it may be:
- Run over by vehicles
- Exposed to unnecessary physical impact
- Submerged or exposed to standing water
- Damaged by animals
- Tampered with by unauthorized persons
- Exposed to unsafe electrical conditions
The Renter is responsible for securing the equipment against theft or accidental damage during the rental period.
10. Internet Performance
Wi-Spot Services does not guarantee a specific internet speed unless a specific performance level has been expressly agreed upon in writing.
Actual Starlink performance may vary due to:
- Location
- Network congestion
- Weather
- Obstructions
- Satellite availability
- Service availability
- Power interruptions
- Equipment conditions
- Starlink network policies
- Other factors outside Wi-Spot Services' control
Wi-Spot Services is not responsible for internet outages or performance issues caused by Starlink or other third-party providers.
11. Power Requirements
The Renter is responsible for providing a suitable and stable power source unless a power solution is specifically included in the rental package.
Wi-Spot Services is not responsible for service interruption or equipment damage caused by unsuitable, unstable, or improperly supplied power.
If a portable power station, generator, or other power equipment is rented separately, its applicable rental terms will also apply.
12. Authorized Use
The equipment may only be used for lawful purposes.
The Renter must not use the Starlink connection or Wi-Spot equipment for activities that violate applicable laws or third-party service terms.
The Renter is responsible for the activities conducted through the internet connection during the rental period.
13. Account and Service Restrictions
The Renter must not attempt to transfer, modify, or interfere with the Starlink account or service configuration provided by Wi-Spot Services unless expressly authorized.
The Renter must not use the equipment in a manner that violates applicable Starlink policies or service restrictions.
14. Technical Support
Wi-Spot Services may provide reasonable technical assistance during the rental period depending on the rental package.
Technical support does not guarantee immediate resolution of problems caused by:
- Third-party internet outages
- Power failure
- Severe weather
- Incorrect equipment placement
- Customer configuration changes
- Physical damage
- Unauthorized modifications
- Conditions outside Wi-Spot Services' reasonable control
On-site technical assistance, when requested or required, may be subject to additional charges.
15. Late Return
Equipment must be returned by the agreed return time.
A late-return fee of at least PHP 500 may apply.
If the equipment is returned more than 12 hours late, Wi-Spot Services may charge an additional full rental day.
Additional charges may apply when the late return prevents Wi-Spot Services from fulfilling another confirmed booking.
16. Early Return
Returning the equipment earlier than the agreed return time does not automatically entitle the Renter to a refund for unused rental time.
Any refund or credit for early return will be at the discretion of Wi-Spot Services unless otherwise stated in the rental agreement.
17. Cancellation
Cancellation terms are governed by the applicable Wi-Spot Services Refund and Cancellation Policy and any specific cancellation terms included in the booking confirmation.
Because equipment is reserved specifically for the Renter, cancellation fees may apply.
18. Extension of Rental
Rental extensions must be requested and approved before the original return deadline.
An extension is subject to equipment availability.
The additional rental period will be charged at the applicable rate.
The Renter must not assume that an extension has been approved without confirmation from Wi-Spot Services.
19. Prohibited Modifications
The Renter must not:
- Change the physical configuration of the Starlink equipment
- Modify firmware or hardware
- Attempt to bypass service restrictions
- Connect equipment in a manner that may damage the rental equipment
- Remove components without authorization
- Use unauthorized power adapters where they may damage the equipment
Any resulting damage or service disruption may be charged to the Renter.
20. Equipment Return
All equipment and accessories must be returned together with the rental unit.
The Renter should return the equipment in substantially the same condition in which it was received, excluding normal wear and tear.
Wi-Spot Services may inspect the equipment after return before releasing the refundable security deposit.
21. Force Majeure
Wi-Spot Services shall not be responsible for failure to provide or continue a rental service due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, major telecommunications outages, power failures, equipment failure, or other force majeure events.
Where reasonably possible, Wi-Spot Services may offer rescheduling or another appropriate remedy.
22. Limitation of Liability
Wi-Spot Services shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use or inability to use the rented equipment or internet service, including loss of business, revenue, data, communications, or event-related opportunities.
The Renter remains responsible for maintaining appropriate backup connectivity for critical operations.
23. Agreement
By accepting the Starlink rental equipment, the Renter confirms that they:
- Have read and understood these Terms and Conditions;
- Accept responsibility for the equipment during the rental period;
- Agree to pay applicable rental, damage, late-return, and other charges; and
- Agree to return all equipment and accessories within the agreed rental period.
